Hello there once again. This will probably be the last entry in Stevie's blog. As the most recent entries are at the top, you're encouraged to start at the bottom and work your way up.
Both tish and I have endured more loss since Stevie's passing a little over three years ago. We've each lost the love of our respective partners. Our father, Lee, passed away suddenly in July, 2009. While it hasn't been the best three years of our lives, throughout it all, a little voice inside me kept asking, "What would Stevie do?"
And that, perhaps, is Stevie's greatest and most enduring legacy. She always seemed to do the right thing. She was a consummate teacher, friend, mentor and parent. She enriched our lives wherever we were.
Some of our best memories are of our respective childhoods in Hawaii. tish and I had the opportunity to return to Oahu recently. We took Stevie along with us to share in the joy of remembrances from the past. We thought that she would like to be in a place with happy memories of loved ones.
After saying our goodbyes again, we walked down to the beach. Both tish and I want to think that Mom was smiling down, as this is the sunrise that she provided for us:
